So here's where I'm at 3 years ago

OK folks so here’s a photo of me from this weekend. As you can see still not quite an 8 pack. It’s hard fighting nature! The fat just goes to the abs and obliques. The obliques are hardest for me to work on too. That and the area on my lower back above the glutes. I’m going to start another high protein phase soon so we’ll see. This time I’m going to do more cardio and burn that fat baby!

I started another high protein phase this week. I’m still having a hard time waking up in the morning but I’m managing to squeeze in workouts somehow.

I’ve rediscovered swimming and jumping rope. I think this will be a good phase and I’ll burn some fat.



Another high protein phase done 3 years ago

I just wrapped a 4 week high protein phase. It was harder than the one I did in December. For those that don’t know, high protein days are when you cut out starchy carbs. I still eat fibrous carbs like broccoli, carrots, onions, peppers, spinach, lima beans, etc. What this does is makes your body burn more fat. Learn more at www.philkaplan.com if you want.

I gotta say it’s awesome to eat starchy carbs again! This weekend I had turkey spaghetti on whole wheat pasta, Cheerios!, stir-fry with chicken, peppers and onions on brown rice. Ah, it’s great.

I think that after a while not having starchy carbs takes a toll on my brain. My memory was suffering!

I feel energized and exicted about working out and putting on some muscle. Today I worked out my quads. I felt such energy and really went for the pump.

After I get a little more tan I’ll post some photos.



It's really an 8-pack 3 years ago

I’m well on my way to this one. I’ve got the upper 4 abs looking good. The fat around my transverse abdominus muscle is still there. I plan to go on a few more cutting diets this year until all 8 ab muscles are visible.
