The record is just about done. I’ve got a few overdubs and solos to redo but that’s it.

I’m waiting on the music video which I think is a crucial component to the whole release.

All the vocals are tracked. Yes! I still have a few guitar and keyboard overdubs to do. It feels good to be close to finishing.

I’m feeling it. Got 4 more songs to do vocals on. I can totally do that by Sunday. What a sweet relief it will be. Still have to re-track a few guitars and keys but shouldn’t be too hard.

Ok I have 6 more songs to do. I’ve been banging it out pretty good. All I can say is Logic Pro 8 makes is soooo easy to comp vocals. It completely streamlines the vocal recording process.

6 songs is a lot to do by Sunday but I think I can do it.

For whoever reads this I am asking for your help. Please send good vibes and prayers my way. I have been given a 2 week window to finish this album. From now until Nov. 11th.

I am having issues with concentration, discipline and enthusiasm. I want this project to be done so badly, yet at the same time part of me is fighting all of this hard work.

I see this as my last chance. This time I have now is a gift. I believe with your help I can knock this out and get it done.

I’m not going to make my September 21st deadline. I’m ok with that. I want my product to be the best it can be. No worries. I’m on track to finish very soon. Looking forward to sharing this music.

I should’ve known better to think I’d have time to spare on this. Truth is I still have a lot to do. With me being perfectionist the bar is set high. I plan to hunker down and get these vocals done. I have the time. Just need to focus and suffer through the repetition.

95% of the guitars are done. Drums are 100% done. Bass is 100% done. Keys, 90% done.

I’ve still got one more song to record. It’s an acoustic one but it’s hard, all finger picking.

I’m stuck on the vocals. This is the hardest part of the whole process, especially doing it myself. It’s one of those deals when you have something hard to do and you keep putting it off, like a report in college or something. So I’ve done some cleaning and organizing in stead of singing. Also, I can only work when it’s quiet. The mics are super sensitive and pick up anything. So the AC has to be off. There can’t be any walking around or talking. I’m not trying to get the Pink Floyd effect.

I’ll get it done by my deadline, I’m not concerned. It’s just hard. I’m ready for this to be over. It’s been isolating and I’ve had to make some sacrifices with my time. It’s worth it.

I’m making huge progress on the record. I’ve tracked all the drums. I’m happy with the sounds. I engineered and played the whole thing down in my basement.

Now I’m working on the guitars. I’m learning so much and I’m so so blessed to have access to all this gear and knowledge. Whenever I have a question I can go to the one of the 5 engineers here at work.

This weekend my brother is going to lay down the bass tracks.
