Fish Afghan Finished! 19 months ago

Woo Hoo! I finally finished the Festive Fish Afghan this past weekend! I’ve gotten a lot of compliments—and I will post a photo after this coming weekend. It is nice to finally complete something, especially a project that had been languishing in the UFO basket for way too long (over 8 years!).
On to the next UFO – my Nova Scotia sweater from AS’s Fisherman’s Sweaters – another project that has been on needles for so long, one probably thinks they are part of the pattern! :-)

99.9% complete! 19 months ago

The Fish Afghan is almost complete. No lie! I’ve got one last row of four fish to attach to the rest of the blanket and then I need to crochet the border and I’ll be done! I’m psyched!
Of course, I have at least five other projects languishing in my UFO bin/bags/etc… but progress is still being made!
I’ll post some photos after I’m finished.

Almost finished with an afghan 20 months ago

I picked up an old project - an afghan from Knitter’s Magazine - that is made of knitted ‘fish’ that are then sewed together into an throw. I figured out how many I still needed to make and then made one or two every night while watching TV. Only 2 more to go and I’ll be able to assemble it and be finished!
Woo Hoo!

Christmas Knitting 23 months ago

OK – so I languished on the Cardigan sleeves. I just needed to put it away for a while. However, I did make several scarves and began working on a small felted bag, as well as worked on a shawl that I began at least a year ago. I am determined to finish these before I have to return to work after New Year’s. Then I’ll work on the cardigan and another sweater I have had on the needles for WAY longer than I care to admit… :-)
Happy New Year!

Just when I thought it was safe... 2 years ago

... arrgghhh! I caught a mistake in my right front of the cardigan I was sure I was about to finish up. Now, I will have to rip out about 20 rows or more… soooo frustrating!
I could just leave it alone but I really want this to look right so rip rip rip I will go.
I think to keep myself motivated,I’ll work on the sleeves and then go back and finish the right front.
Drat drat and double drat! Just when I thought I was making progress too and feeling good!

Making some progress 2 years ago

I spent one of my most recent days off working on the cardigan from Knitter’s magazine. I have about 20 rows to go for the Right Front of the sweater and I will be able to start on the sleeves.
I learned a trick of casting on both sleeves at the same time, which enables one to ensure they are exactly the same length and tension. Luckily, I have long enough needles to accomodate this and I think I’ll feel motivated to complete this project knowing I just have to finish those sleeves. I am actually getting excited about finishing this project and wearing this sweater!

UFO's 2 years ago

For you knitters out there, you know UFO’s stands for Unfinished Objects… I have four major UFO’s that I am determined to finish. One is a cardigan from Knitter’s Magazine… it’s been on the needles at least 4 years, probably closer to 6 years. Yikes! Another is Nova Scotia from Alice Starmore’s Fisherman Sweaters… that is my oldest outstanding project. I am going to wear this sweater THIS winter! I have a pair of socks languishing, and a throw blanket also awaiting completion.
I have a couple of new projects I’d like to start but I will not until I finish at least one of these.
