find a pen pal

I recently ran into becca (an old school chum) and we are writting to one another!

  Remember that odd girl in elementary school that no one liked…the sad little  girl that sang to herself while playing on the swings alone? Well, I am that little girl all grown up, at 26, and complete with a fist full of fuck off to give anyone who stands in my way.  My name is Jane Marie and here are some seemingly random facts in regards to the funny little muddle I have become:  I only wear red nail polish, I sometimes work tech crew for theatrical productions, I love plum saki, I sing for a band, I am practically in love with a dead author named Anthony Burgess (don’t worry my husband isn’t jealous), my eyes are more yellow than green, l am constantly biking, I have a fetish for color that shines through in my artistic endeavours,  can be a bit too focused on my goals and I obsessively archive music.

As you may have already concluded, I am looking for a pen pal.  I would prefer someone who is between 20 and 30, willing to  communicate via snail mail, and has enough time to write once a week.  I live in the US but am open to exchanging letters with people from anywhere.

Well, my best friend went to jail last week. So, now I definitely have a pen pal….:(

I posted an ad up at interpals.net specifying what I was looking for and the searched about for other artists. I found a few different people who seemed as if they might be a match for me and sent them a message explaining what I would like to do. Two of the female artists I contacted got back to me and were very excited. Now, I just need to get a new po box after moving into the new place. I am very confident that both of the artists will end up doing this collaboration but I am not going to cross it off until we send a couple of correspondences.

Hello!  My name is Jane Marie.  I am 26, married and living in the US.  I went to school for fine art but did not graduate due to monetary issues.  I am looking for employment currently but most of the time I pay bills through odd jobs and such so that I have plenty of time to paint.  I was also recently accepted as the new vocalist for a popular local band  .

I am looking for another artist who would be interested in collaborating on some pieces,  bouncing ideas off of one another, and mutually critiquing each other’s work.
