My mom’s parrot has learned quite a few phrases taught by my mother, some intentionally taught, others just caught. This list is not exhaustive, I’ll add more as I hear or remember them. I put an asterisk by the ones she says frequently.
- Good morning.
- Where is my mommy? *
- Ok you be a good girl, I’ll see you later. *
- Did you eat your supper? *
- Did you eat your lunch?
- Give me a kiss (and makes kissing noise). *
- Night, night. * (says this at night)
- My name is Joy.
- Hi cutie. *
- Hi cutie, what ‘chya doing?
- What ‘chya doing?
- Naughty!! *
- Peek-a-boo, where’s Joy?
- Peek-a-boo, I see you.
- Merry Christmas.
- Hello. * (and says hello when telephone rings)
- (makes telephone ring noise, then says hello.) *
- I love you.
- I…Love…You, I love you.
- What ‘chya lookin’ at?
- What are you doing, young lady?
- Come here.
- Hey munchkin.
- (makes oven timer and microwave timer beeps)
- (makes squeaky door noise)
- Hey, no biting!
- Ouch! Sh#t! Naughty! No biting! (she draws blood on this one)
- I’m a good girl. (you wouldn’t know it after that last one!)
- Say Thank You.
