Pergamonmuseum

My boyfriends parents had been in Berlin for a visit in February and we visited the Pergamonmuseum together.

The Berlin Comedian Harmonists

In December I saw and heard the Berlin Comedian Harmonists singing Christmas Carols in good old 1920ies-style.

Helene Grimaud plays Bach

In November I saw and heard wonderful piano player Helene Grimaud playing Bach in the Berlin Philharmonie. It was impressing!

Jedermann (a play by Hugo von Hoffmansthal)

Last week we had an incredible evening in the Dome of Berlin where we saw the play ‘Jedermann’ by hugo von Hoffmansthal and music from Johann Sebastian Bach. The atmosphere inside this big church was impressive and a great background for this play.

The wonderful night of filmmusic

A german-wide radio station which only plays classical music starts a concert series where the Klassik Radio Pops Orchestra plays just wonderful music from great soundtracks. I saw a concert of this series two years ago in the Phlharmonie of Berlin, but this time the concert takes place in the Tempodrom where the atmosphere was not that good. But it was a wonderful concert and I had to cry during some of these great movie songs performed live by 80 musicians.

Anton Bruckner: Romantic Symphony

Last sunday we went to the Berlin Philharmonie and saw the London Symphony Orchestra playing the Romantic Symphony by Anton Bruckner. It was a wonderful evening and we enjoyed the music and the great atmosphere in this wonderful music hall in Berlin.

The Threepenny Opera after B. Brecht

Today is the 80th birthday of this play and we watched it yesterday evening in the Berliner Ensemble where Brecht worked after the 2nd World War ended. It was a strange production, but it’s always a contemporary plot.

Elisabeth - a musical highlight

...

Drei Schwestern (Three Sisters) after Anton Tschechow

In this play we saw three famous german actresses: Katja Riemann, Jasmin Tabatabai and Nicolette Krebitz.

MAMMA MIA!

What a great evening at the musical I had last Friday. I love the ABBA songs and the musical took my heart! Just loved it!
