I feel as if I’ve waited to long to learn other languages. My father’s native language is Spanish and that might be the easiest one to start with. I took some French in high school and while I didn’t pay much attention, certain things stuck out in my mind. I recently traveled to Italy and before departing, I crash-coursed myself in the basics of Italian and was able to make basic conversation. Not only will learning Spanish/French/Italian be a good use of my time, it will also come in handy when traveling (which I plan to do much more of). And who knows, maybe it could even lead to something job-related. The easy part is the pronunciation (that’s a strong point for me)...it’s the actual learning of the words that’s the challenge! And what a fun challenge it is.
