I certainly haven’t put on any weight, but I may have at least some answers to why my body might be this way. I had a job the other day helping out with an amateur orchestra. It was out of London, so the conductor took me there in his car. And while we were travelling we talked about various things. The conversation at some point turned to eating, and after I told him how much I normally ate, he questioned why I should be so skinny. He thinks that I may have a hormone imbalance and after he explained why, things began to make some sense.
You see… from the age of 13 until I had left school (just before my 18th birthday), I never had a weekday dinner unless it was during the holidays. In order to escape as much bullying at school as possible I had to use the dinner money to ‘pay off’ those who would beat me up. I didn’t have enough money to make all of them leave me alone each breaktime, but it reduced the numbers a little. Of course, my mum never knew – so for five days a week for all those years, I only had a yoghurt for breakfast and then in the evening some bread and cake. The conductor told me that girls that did not eat properly over this important period of life, quite often were not able to have children later on. So in starving my body of the food it needed, have I possibly done something to my hormones also? Is there anybody here who may have anymore information or experience in this? Or just some confirmation that this may indeed have made a drastic change to how my body functions.
