Since I’ve moved back to NYC I haven’t been driving much, and even when I do, I’m in my Echo. My little car gets 38mpg highway, 32mpg city. I’m good for noe.

Is there any data on battery life?

I love the idea of hybrids, but I am somewhat concerned about the overall life of the battery. Is there any real data out there showing the overall lifespan of the battery in hybrids, what sort of issues there are, costs of replacement, etc? As far as I know, and this is only from what others have told me, replacing a battery in a hybrid can cost 5000 + labor. Aie!
