grow a garden

I am moving into a new house with a huge yard and the people who lived in the house before us created an area already started for a garden! I have no idea if anything is still planted in there but I can’t wait to find out and begin the garden I have always wanted. I have no idea what I am doing, but how else am I going to ever learn if I don’t just do it?

So I have been too busy to give gardening a try. Or maybe that is just an excuse. I am a little nervous considering I can’t keep house plants alive, how do I actually think I will be capable of growing a vegetable/Flower garden? So I think I will start slow. Plant a few low maintenance plants along the side of the house that looks a little bare and practice taking care of them before I go taring up my lawn all over the place only to successfully kill everything I plant….
Any low maintenance plant suggestions?

I went to the home and garden expo today (because I was required to for a class) but I will admit that I was excited to get some inspiration about my dream garden I plan to begin this spring. I just can’t wait to start digging in the dirt. I am alittle nervous though because i can’t seem to keep house plants alive, I hope mother nature can help me out with this one. I think this desire comes from all the beautiful gardens my great grandma had and the wonderful memories of swinging on my swing set when I was little…stealing carrots and pea pods from my mothers garden, now it’s time to have one of my own.
