with soft bristles and a heart-shaped end on the handle. I brushed Lilly this morning and she just closed her eyes. She loves having her fur brushed.
I have two cats, but Lilly is the target of this goal. Molly stands on me in the morning and yells till I wake up and pet her-she will never lack attention because she demands it. Lilly is more reticent-I have to seek her out.

understands the concept of a gift. Yesterday I found, carefully placed on some papers to the right of my desk-where I sit most of the time-a dead chickadee. I mourned the chickadee but celebrated my little furry one’s love for me.

and when I sit down beside her (on the floor, God forbid she should make it easy for me), she stretches out to give me maximum access to fur.

. . . she does not ask for much, so I have to make sure she is getting enough attention. I’d like to establish a little routine with her, a set time and place when we play and cuddle.
