it’s already hundreds of miles away in Seacaucus, NJ. (I just checked the tracking number, and that’s where it was at 1:20 a.m.)
Farewell, little book! Bon voyage! I’ll see you again when you have been edited.

Farewell, little book! Bon voyage! I’ll see you again when you have been edited.
I called home yesterday to find out wht size ink cartridge I use.
“There’s a bag on the bookcase with two color cartridges in it. Read me the numbers on them,” I said to the caregiver. After much discussion, we decided that the biggest, most prominent number was 8.
I went to Staples and got five black cartridges, Number 8.
This morning, my ink ran out. I opened the printer. The three color cartridges are Number 8. The black cartridge? Number 5.
“Well, no problem,” I said. I will take out the cyan cartridge, put in the black, and change my font color to cyan.
I made the switch, but the little light did not come on.
Maybe if I take out the red cartridge, put in the black, and change my font color to red?
No dice.
Yellow?
Ixnay.
The printer knows what color cartridge you put into it?? I can’t even outsmart a printer? Kill me now.
And why, why, why two different cartridge sizes in the same printer? Put me in a time machine and kill me yesterday.
I have wasted a $15 cartridge, and today is my long day at work, (till 8 p.m., I was planning to send it on the way to work), so I can forget getting this out today.
Arrrrrgh.
and done with Chapter 23—thorny, prickly, Chapter 23.
Time to blow out the aromatherapy candle, pour a glass of wine to mellow out my mood, and head for bed. Printing can wait till morning.
Oh, pee. Still have not revised the TOC. It can wait till morning, too.
Goodnight, all, and thanks for your cheers and support during my deadline crisis. (More likely my procrastination crisis, but I won’t go there.)
Fragrant hand lotion? Check.
Emergency chocolate? Check.
Okay . . . after ditching a huge section of Chapter 23, time to make it work . . .
after time out for sleep, work, a trip to Staples for another ink cartridge, and a migraine and resulting nap.
Not officially late on this until after midnight, but of course I can’t leave N. to go to the post office, so I will be officially late.
Still to do:
Finish Chapter 23
number from 400-something to end
Print from 284-end
revamp table of contents
put on CD (2 copies)
put paper and CD copies in box
address box
take to fedex or ups
take to
inventory time . . .
still need to . . .
finish chapter 23
winnow readings
number pages from 400-something on
print
put in box
Onward!
Now I’ve lost a chapter . . . MS Word gave me a message about a bad floppy—i.e., USB drive.
Grrr . . . off to see if I have an older version of the chapter somewhere . . . I know I do, as many places as I store this stuff.
Still, grrr.
