I always plan to go to social events and then chicken out at the last moment. Something about talking to total strangers freaks me out… I do better if they’re a friend-of-a-friend or someone I work with in class or such. Most of my friends I met through other people.. I much prefer it that way because I don’t need to walk up to random people and start a conversation.
Now if only I had a few more “real” friends here I could network through… all I seem to have is casual acquaintances. Ah well.. thinking about leaving this place in a year anyway.
