I’ve read the occasional Dialogue every now and then for about the past 20 years and they’re delicious. Sure, you’d like to slap Plato every now and again when he has Socrates’ antagonist agree too quicly to a debatable point but then again, Wittgenstein this ain’t. Besides, it’s the glee and the gusto and the irony of Plato’s writing that makes me want to dig a little deeper into his work as a whole. I’ve got a nice single volume collection and I’ve even moved it to my night stand.
