I got to A.B.D. status and then tucked my program in for a long winter’s nap, thinking I would never ever rouse it from slumber.
But I want it again now. I want the sense of completion. I want the silly sense of authority those letters grant. I want to see if I can flex my mental muscles in one really grand gesture. I want to produce something that is deep and clear and that I can feel proud of.
I have re-activated my file. I have re-established contact with a mentoring professor. I have a small stack of works on my desk that I have to digest. I have a one month vacation starting tomorrow in which I shall start to kick the snot out of this goal. From a practical perspective, I will reassess the feasibility of this goal in early August because it won’t get easier than this to achieve. Wish me luck.
