I finally got around to starting Les Miserables, after it’s sat on my end table unopened for the past two weeks. Sixteen pages down, 1309 to go. At this rate, I should finish it by Christmas, 2011.

Just bought the book on eBay…1326 page hardcover. At $2.25 a real bargain (but isn’t that what eBay’s for?). Should have it within a week.

I’m a huge, huge fan of Les Miserables. I’ve seen the musical four times (once on Broadway, once in Philly, and two school versions) and watched three movie versions…but have yet to read the book. I’ve picked it up a couple of times, but have you seen that thing? Depending on the edition, it’s close to 1500 pages.
Still, I love the story, and I’m determined that the next time I start it, I will finish it.
