Visit Machu Picchu

Spoke to one of my best friends back in the UK and we’ve agreed that neither of us is leaving for Machu Picchu without the other.
She’s hoping to come over here in the next year/year and a half so I pretty much have about two and a half years to save up for this. We found a brilliant trip for a couple of weeks with STA and, while I’d love to volunteer over there, financially I probably couldn’t stay for longer than the holiday.
We’ll see. It all depends how my Adventures savings account works out :]

I’d really love to do some voluntary work like this and this is a brilliant value way to indulge myself in the community over there.
I can add a few weeks travel onto the experience so plenty of time to hike the Inca Trail and head up to that beautiful place I’m so desperate to see.

This is something I’ve wanted to do for a good ten years now (ever since reading the Horrible Histories book ‘Incredible Incas’ in my first year of high school!) and with the move to Australia looming and new lifestyle that will finally lend me disposable income, I think it’s something I’m definitely going to be able to do within the next five years at most!
Saving will start from around this time next year (looked at flights just for an idea and it’s going to cost me around $3000!), as I hope to be able to go back to the UK for two weeks at the start of August 2012 for a music festival and a bit of the Edinburgh Fringe.

A long term goal! Hurrah!
