Finish Mom's cross stitch project

I’ve been trying to do at least ten stitches per day on the project. Of course, the project is 211 by 139 stitches overall, which is a little over 29,000 stitches. And that pattern area is probably about 95% fully filled with stitches. I’d say I’m pretty close to halfway done. But at ten stitches per day, that will still end up being maybe six months to finish. Guess I’d best try to do more than ten stitches per day, eh?

So, I failed the challenge of trying to get the project done in time to send to her for Christmas, but I still want to get it done as soon as I can. Maybe I’ll be able to send it to her for Mother’s Day. Anyway, in consequence of failing the challenge I’d set for myself, I’m not going to drink in 2010. That should help out the budget a little, at least…

Looks like there’s no way on earth I’m going to manage to get this thing done in time to get it framed and sent off to Mom for Christmas. Maybe I’ll make it in time for Mother’s Day, though. Just got to keep plugging away on it…

Unfortunately, I still have quite a bit to go, and it’s a very large piece of work. My mom really likes ancient Egypt, so I’m doing a design I found of King Tut’s mask. It was originally going to be a birthday present (Nov. 2), but that came and went, and now I’m just hoping for Christmas. Guess I’d best step it up…
