Get everything out of the storage unit

Over the past week, I’ve been stopping in the evenings and picking up some stuff from the unit, the bringing it into the house when I get home and the following day at lunch. I had until the 21st to get it cleared before I had to pay another month’s rent, and I slid in just under the wire. But it’s finally done. I have the last of the stuff still out in the car, and there’s boxes of stuff stacked up on the stairway waiting to go upstairs, but at least no more storage rent…

Yesterday I stopped at the storage unit on the way home from work. I completely packed the car with stuff, but I think I’ve probably got two or three more loads left, at least. I really need to get upstairs and clear out the closet so I can move some of the stuff from the car up there. At least get it out of the way until I can dispose of it more efficiently…

The girlfriend and I figured out our budget the other day, and we’re basically not making enough to cover our bills and buy the things we need (like gas and groceries) right now. So despite the fact that our apartment currently seems too cluttered, I’m going to try to get all of the stuff out of the storage unit before I have to pay the next bill. With that in mind, I stopped at the storage unit yesterday at lunch and filled the car with boxes and stuff. I’ve been working 12 hour days all week, so I’ve just been taking a little bit of it out each day. Hopefully I get everything out by the end of the evening tomorrow, and then on Saturday I’ll go down and get another load…

I stopped at the storage unit to pay the bill today and brought home a couple of my guitar stands. Not only getting a little bit of stuff out of the storage unit, but they’ll let me get a couple of my instruments out of the way, instead of just leaning against other stuff in the room…

I moved down here to Texas last April, that would be April of 2008, and I’ve been paying $65 per month for the storage unit since then. I already have most of the stuff I use regularly out of it, but there’s still a bunch of old computer equipment and musical equipment, as well as just an odd assortment of stuff that I should mostly get rid of. I’ve decided that one of my resolutions for 2010 is to get at least one item out of the unit every month when I go down to pay the bill. It may not clear out the unit by the end of the year, but at least it’ll get me closer…
