Go bowling more often

...has been talking about going bowling. I haven’t actually been since I moved here to Texas, three years ago now. And, not surprisingly, that isn’t exactly going “more often.” In any case, I’ll leave this on the list for right now, but I’m not really following through on it because the budget is a bit tight right at the moment. Maybe once I get myself a better job…

I’m kind of trying to get myself in the habit of going bowling once a month for 2008. So today was the first time, because the weekend I was going to go in January, I came down with strep. Anyway, for not having bowled in nearly a year, I don’t think I did too bad: 114, 146, and 156. Just about a 139 average, which is about where my average used to be…

Went bowling with my wife this weekend. I bowled 118, 149, and 149 for my three games, which gets my overall average for this year up to 137. We’ll see if I can creep it up to about 150 by the end of the year…

Went bowling yesterday evening with my sister-in-law and her daughter. We each bowled three games. I scored 143, 150, and 113 for my games, for an average of 135. About what I used to average when I was bowling kind of regularly.

Back when I was single, I used to stop at the bowling alley at least every couple of weeks and bowl a few games. I had my average up around 150 or so, and I was even thinking of joining a league. Not that I’m at all saying marriage has anything to do with it, but I really don’t go bowling much at all any more. I doubt that I’ve bowled more than 20 games total in the past two years. So, I’m making it one of my goals to at least go down to the alley once a month and bowl a couple of games. I’ll try to get my average back up a bit, and maybe I’ll join a league after all…
