I pretty much just archived my old website and put up a quick and dirty placeholder, but aside from creating a new blog for the site and adding a couple of links to the old site and one of the most popular pages on it, I really haven’t done much at all with this. Oh, and I did add a page for my cross stitch projects, but even that’s not getting updated when I complete all of my projects. Of course, stressing out over my move to Texas hasn’t helped all that much. Maybe once I’m down there, I’ll have a little more free time to get this done. For now, it stays on the list, of course, but it’s definitely slow going at best.

It’s the beginning of a new year, and I’m getting ready to sort of take a new start on my life, so what better time to go ahead and redesign the website, too. Cut free all of the old ghost pages and put them in the archive…
Okay, I’ll go ahead and say this is done for now. All the pages on the site are using the same CSS template/scheme, and I’ve finally finished making sure all of my poetry pages and such are up to date. Now I just need to add more content to the thing…
Well, not that it’s really a huge redesign, but I have added all of my old MIDI files and poetry to the site, along with indexes. I also added a FlickrBadge to the homepage. It would be nice to actually update the look of the page, since right now it’s pretty plain vanilla. Since I’m just about done with the content updates for now, maybe I should start working on the look…
Okay, so I’ve added a real blog to my website. Located at http://www.synthreal.com/blog/blogger.html. Not much there yet, but it’s only been up one day. I’m thinking it’s going to be a combination of changes to the website, musical stuff I’ve been doing, writings, programming stuff I’m working on, and maybe my travels. We’ll see what I can keep up with…
Okay, so I yanked down pretty much everything that was up there and put up a basic index.html with a little info about myself and left the security papers I had written for the company newsletter. Aside from that, everything right now links to my LiveJournal and my Flickr photos. Will work on it some more this evening…
At least I’ve added a couple of new things. The articles I wrote for the company newsletter can now be found at the following addresses:
http://www.synthreal.com/GonePhishing.htm
http://www.synthreal.com/Spam1.htm
http://www.synthreal.com/Spam2.htm
All were written for a general audience, not for geeks. They are about phishing schemes and how to avoid them, why and how spammers do the things they do, and what you can do to alleviate the spam problem for yourself.
I’d like to update my website to add my current poetry, music, photos, etc. I’ve moved over to places like LiveJournal and Flickr, but since I still own the web address, I’d like to have it say something useful. I hope to start updating a few things this evening. I have several other things to do, though…
