I'm living in a real college town now, but... 19 months ago

I’m going to have to wait a while before I can try to register for any classes. The first reason is because I really need to find a job so I have some money coming into the coffers, and the other reason is because I need to wait six months so I can become an official resident and not have to pay the much higher non-resident fees. It’s going to be expensive enough as-is, without adding the additional out of state costs to the deal. So, probably around the beginning of fall term I’ll start looking a lot more closely…

Temporary Holding Pattern 3 years ago

Due to my recent change in living conditions, it seems that this is going to have to take a back burner position for the time being. Perhaps once the house is sold and I’m not paying both rent and the majority of a mortgage bill, I’ll be able to reconsider it. I won’t cross it off the list, because I do still want to do this.

Doing a little research... 4 years ago

Well, I checked the website for Rogue Community College, and it looks like I could probably take an evening class for somewhere around $250 or so. I’m thinking about shooting for the associate’s degree in either business technology or manufacturing technology. Not really sure, but I’ll have to get in touch with their counselors this summer.

And get an accounting degree 4 years ago

Dropped out of college 15 years ago because I was young, stupid, impatient, thought I knew everything already, etc. The usual stuff. Now I’m thinking it might be nice to get away from the I/S job that I’ve kind of inherited, and even though I could probably get a bookkeeping-type job with the skills I have, it would be very nice to actually have the degree to back it up. It’ll take a while for this one to get on my “I’ve done this” list…
