Nothing like a real marathon! 4 years ago

A Messier marathon is an attempt to observe, in a single night, all 110 of the deep-sky astronomical objects enumerated by Charles Messier in the 18th century (with a few later additions). The 110 “fuzzy things” that comprise Messier’s catalog include nebulae, galaxies, star clusters, and other fun sights.

I’ve only ever observed a handful of these, so I’ve got a lot of work ahead of me. This may be something I don’t tackle for many years, until I’ve had a lot of time to spend familiarizing myself with the contours of the nighttime sky. But it can’t hurt to put it on the list of goals now…
