I want to go see Bard on the Beach. This year they are performing ‘Julius Caesar’ and ‘Romeo and Juliet’. I am a sucker for Romeo and Juliet, don’t know why and I love anything and everything to do with the death of the Republic of Rome and the benevolent dictator who killed it. So, I want to see both of these. I love the speaches in Julius Caesar as well.
Problem is, my wife doesn’t like Shakespeare. Calm down, I obviously didn’t know this when I married her, but when I suggested Bard on the Beach a few years back, she told me this. I am sure we will work through this betrayal in counselling some day, but in the meantime I don’t get to go see Bard on the Beach. The problem here is that she wouldn’t want me to go with any other women and I don’t want to go with a bunch of guys. Woe is me.
I am going this year. I might take my kids, although I am afraid they are too young. I have been reading small portions of shakespeare’s sonnets to them though to get them down with bard! Take that wife!
