I stumbled upon this web site a couple of weeks ago. Honestly, I had no idea there were so many people out there struggling with the same thing I have struggled with for the last couple of years. I am 30 yrs. old and have been smoking herb for at least the last 15 years. At first I would smoke with my friends, at parties, concerts, whatever – but by the time I was 17 or 18 I was smoking marijuana all day every day. Seriously, it is the very first thing I do in the morning and the very last thing I do before I go to bed. I don’t think I have gone a day or two without smoking in over a decade.
So here I am, 30 years old, I have a beautiful wife, a nice place to live and a decent job…but still I can not free myself from this addiction. I feel really conflicted about this who thing (and I think that is part of the problem). On one hand I LOVE marijuana – the way it looks, the way it smells and obviously the way it makes me feel (sometimes). I honestly don’t think there is anything wrong with smoking a little herb now and then. But my problem is, and always has been, that I do not smoke just a little here and there. Last week my wife and I smoked an ounce in about 10 days. That’s just too much. First of all, the money I have spent and continue to spend is crazy – I can get a really nice ounce of dank for about $300 dollars. I feel that is a good deal but still…a $300 dollar a week (or every 10 day) habit is out of control. I’m not rich and don’t have that kind of money to throw around…but still I continue to purchase those sticky green buds. The second thing I really hate about smoking so much is the way it makes you feel. Don’t get me wrong, that first high of the day is always great. But constantly smoking makes me moody, completely un-motivated and totally anti-social. I don’t want to talk on the phone, I don’t want to go to the gym or get some excersise – all I want to do is smoke, listen to music, play video games and hang out with my trusty friend, THE BONG.
So anyway, thank you to everyone who contributed to this site – You all have made me feel like I am not alone. I haven’t quit smoking yet…but I am going to keep trying.
