Three days ago I left a paper crane on the table as I finished lunch at the cafe. The other day as I stood in line by the cashier, I noticed her adjusting something behind her register. She smiled, as if it were a little keepsake of hers. As I stepped up to the register to pay, I noticed the paper crane sitting on her shelf.
I came away that day realizing that I’d brought just a little extra bit of happiness to someone else’s life, and in return I felt better for it as well. If paper cranes left in little places are all that is needed to make others happy, then I’ll gladly keep making them.
