This morning I finished .
I’ve also joined a bookclub as part of my alma mater, Swarthmore College. The reading starts up in September and the theme for the year is “The City”. Prof. Heather Easterling ‘92, of Gonzaga University is designing the reading list. Swarthmore’s definitely intense, so this should be a rewarding club. Here’s the booklist for the year:- September: – Italo Calvino
- October: selections from A Companion to the City, editors Gary Bridge and Sophie Watson
- November: – Virginia Woolf
- December/January: a pair of Renaissance “city” plays, such as – Shakespeare and – Ben Jonson
- February: – Edith Wharton
- March: – Paul Auster
- April: – Orhan Pamuk
- May: – Armistead Maupin
Last week I finished , which I’ve been working on since before I went to Montana.
Last week I also finished a fun sweet novel by Naguib Mahfouz.
