I haven’t gone running all week.

I’ve been pretty bad at this. I was going to run 3 miles last night but then traffic was bad so I didn’t get home from work until 8:20 PM.

Excuses, I know. I will run tonight. Four miles. No excuses. I will run and I will stretch and I will lift weights and I will feel good. =)



weekend update 3 years ago

on friday i ran, finally.
i ran on a treadmill at an incline of 1 to simulate running outside.
i ran for 25 mins at 6 miles/hr (2.5 miles).
and then i had to go to the bathroom.
after, i ran for 35 minutes at 6 miles/hr (3.5 miles).
after the cool down my total was 3.61 miles.

in all, i ran 6.11 miles and an incline of 1.
this took me a bit over an hour since i had to stop to go to the bathroom.

oh! after the run, i lifted weights and felt strong. :-p

i’m running tonight, and i hope to run 5 miles at 6 miles/hr without any breaks.

May 29th to June 1st:
didn’t run

Monday was Memorial Day and I stayed home and was nice and lazy
Tuesday: had an ortho appointment and got home late (9:30ish)
Wednesday: attended training for Weed Warriors and got home a bit after 7… felt pooped after a long day
Thursday: had an appointment with my electrologist and got home at about 9:30ish.. was tired
Friday! Today! I am running. I haven’t made any progress, and that’s upsetting. I keep thinking that my life is uneventful but I have appointments and such that take up my time.

Oh! Friends invited to watch a good movie and other people asked me to go to a happy hour/good bye celebration for a co-worker, but I said no. Yes! I will run tonight, otherwise I will keep putting it off.

The plan is to run 6 miles tonight and to run outside once this week so that I can get a taste of that.
I’ll report on Monday. :)

Monday- ran 4.8 miles… yay
Tuesday- power outage at home means treadmill can’t be used
Wednesday- instead i bought groceries and watched “Lost” on TV. it was the 2-hr finale so I had no time to run
Thursday- was depressed and sleepy so didn’t run
Friday- i think i am going to a party so i can’t run

oh nooooooooo! it looks like i will never be able to prepapre for the marathon. :(

Last night I ran 4.8 miles on the treadmill. I didn’t start running until 9:20 AM ‘cause I was busy making cornbread and I had to get my motivation up, too.

I ran 2.5 miles at 6 miles per hour, but the lower part of the left side of my belly started hurting before I had even done 2 miles, and it was a struggle to finish 2.5. I did that and I knew that I should continue ‘cause I have to build my stamina and get used to dedicating 1 hour to running. Therefore, I finished the hour by running at 4 mph on a 5% incline. Going at 4 mph is slow for me, but adding the incline makes me a bit challenging and it works out different parts of my legs, which is good.



Starting today 3 years ago

sigh I’ve tried keeping to a schedule before, but I didn’t follow it.
Now I’m determined that I must start running and keeping to it. If I can get myself to keep to the schedule I might be able to run a half marathon this year instead of next year, and my goal is to run it this year… but I will only do that if I feel prepared for it.
I printed a training schedule for runners and I will do my best to follow it. =) I will also come on here every weekday morning and report what I did the night before.

This is quite exciting. It’s about me and making myself healthier and stronger. =)
