This goal is interesting, but I need to focus on more serious ones. I do go walking outdoors frequently (without logging the distance), so that part is accomplished. Finding Rivendell and its kindred spirits: I think there are many of those in my life, with new ones arriving occasionally, even if they aren’t elves. I will mark this as done, but I’ll still be a lifelong Tolkien fan.

Walking, but not counting 2 years ago

When I first clicked on this goal, before I read others’ entries, I interpreted this as a metaphorical goal, as in ‘seek a place where kindred spirits dwell in peace and harmony’. Like Bilbo, I would like to live among elves in a magical place such as Rivendell. The re-creation of Rivendell in the LOTR film was quite lovely. If I ever manage to actually get there, I would probably stay! But this is fantasy, so I’ll continue to interpret ‘Walk to Rivendell’ in my own way.

I have no interest in counting my steps while walking elsewhere, or whatever I’m expected to do. I enjoy walking, but with no strings attached.
