Well, my strummin’ buddy is comin’ over tomorrow and we’re planning to play; he’s tried to push me into it a couple o’ times when I was less than enthusiastic, which didn’t turn out so good; he ended up gettin’ a little pissed off at me for bein’ such a stick n’ the mud, and I was doin’ all I could just to keep my eyes open. Then when we did get some sleep I slept on the floor and gave him the couch and consequently woke up feeling like I’d been run over by a truck.
Tomorrow is another story though; I’ve got a couple of new basses in mind, one I will probably order tonight, and for tomorrow I have a Fender P Bass to play; I think I’ll pick up a recording machine at the Rental place, I’m fixin’ to go by there tomorrow; I’ve got a couple of new songs and we have a half dozen or so of my songs already rehearsed; also spoke to an old friend from my professional punk rocker days and he asked me if I’d be ready to gig in a few weeks. I said YES! (even though I get arthritus after one song these days but fuggit! no pain no gain right?) ...anyway….. whether I end up becoming a monk or not I will never regret putting energy into playin’ music now while I can. Music is a healing, postive force and God knows I need it. I wanna feel it in the One Drop as Robert Nesta Marley used to say! Yah mon…..
