We tried a new restaurant last night on our date night. It was called “The Yard House”. The atmosphere was great and the menu selection was really good as well. I had the Chicken Enchilada Stack, which was unusual and delicious!
We had plans on going to the restaurant the night Ella was born. We headed out there on a date night and I went into labor so we never made it to the restaurant! I’m glad we made it back there as it was wonderful!
This week my “new” thing was traveling to Louisville, KY. What a beautiful city! I didn’t get to tour much, but was able to eat at Sulley’s down at 4th Street Live. There downtown area is great and very people friendly, unlike KC’s, which shuts down at 6pm after the workers go home.
The city was very clean, traffic wasn’t bad at all, and there seemed to be a lot to do! I can’t wait to visit again when I have more time to tour the city.
This may sound odd, but I’m going to try to not say no to my husband this week. This goes along with a couple of other goals I have. We’ll see how it works :)
I’m trying and trying to think of last week and what I might have done that was new. I tried a new restaurant…does that count? I tried a new bread recipe, which probably counts.
I didn’t do what I had planned, which was card making, but did a couple of small things.
Now, I need to plan ahead for this week to decide what I’d like to do new!
This week I’m going to use some of my scrapbooking supplies and unopened stamp stuff to create my own note cards. We’ll see how it goes!
This week for this goal I made a lattice pie crust for an apple pie. I’ve always been intimidated by these crusts, but decided to give it a try. It turned out to not be nearly as hard as I thought it would and it ended up making a beautiful pie!
My 4 year old loves getting mail and he loves postcards, so I’ve decided to give postcrossing.com a try. Someone had it listed on one of theier 43 things list and I think my son will love it!
I have 4 postcards ready to go, but I need to figure out the postage. They are all going to Finland. Any idea on postage amount? They are the larger square postcards and it says “extra postage required”. I’m going to call the USPS in a few seconds to see if I can figure this out.
Fun stuff!
I went to a new hair stylist yesterday and she did great things to my hair! She gave me a cute new cut and added some great tones to the color of my hair. Best of all, she was inexpensive so I can keep up! She works out of her house, is a SAHM like I am, and I really liked her a lot!
