have a "date night" at least twice a month

Thursday is my birthday and my parents have offered to watch the kids one last time before they leave for the fall/winter (waaaahhh!) on Friday. Nick and I need to go out. I’m not sure if he’s planning something, so I’m going to have a plan on the back burner just in case. Maybe a restaurant and a movie? Restaurant and shopping? Who knows! Just something!

My birthday is coming up and it’s the weekend before my parents leave for the winter. They said they’ll watch the kids for the weekend if Nick and I want to get away.
Since I’m nursing, I can’t really leave Ella for a weekend. If we go away for the weekend, she’ll be going with us. Maybe we should just go out for the night…. who knows.

There is a possibility that Nick will be traveling to NYC that week again. Maybe I can get a ticket and spend a couple of days there with him. That would be a nice birthday present!

We have a date night tonight! My friend Jennifer is watching the kids at her house. I think we’ll go out to the Legends and at the very least go to dinner. An ideal night for us, besides napping, would be to be able to just hang out and browse the bookstore in peace. Maybe we’ll do that too :)

Well, next weekend won’t work because my husband’s sister and her family will be in town. I need to get this on the calendar before our favorite babysitter heads back to college. I’m going to check the calendar during the following week to see what I can set up. We really need to go out, even if it is just for a couple of hours!

I think I’ll try to get a sitter for next weekend. My husband and I really need to get out together for some us time, as we are getting lost in this whole being parents business!
