I’m trying to find all the ingredients for a rich facial/body cream for my super dry skin. It has coconut oil, jojoba oil, beeswax, distilled water, lavender oil, and sandalwood oil. I’m having a bit of trouble finding the beeswax. Although, I haven’t had the time to do any searching online. I was hoping to find it locally.

I finally used up my St. Ives Apricot Scrub. I made a scrub with brown sugar and jojoba oil. I used it for the first time last Sunday. My face felt so soft and moisturized. The sugar felt a little weird, but the final result was very nice.
I was all set to make a new deodorant from my new book. The main scent is from sandalwood oil. I love the smell of sandalwood incense. I got all the ingredients, but I couldn’t find sandalwood oil anywhere. After looking online, I discovered why. Sandalwood is kind of rare and rather pricy. I really don’t want to pay $40 for 2 oz. of essential oil at this point. So, I read some more in my book tonight. I think I will use either patchouli, cedarwood, or ylang-ylang oil instead. I have to take a smell test to see which I like best next week.
I just ordered “Earthly Bodies & Heavenly Hair” from Amazon this week. I’ve heard great things about it. Can’t wait for it to come so I can try out some recipies!
I couldn’t find rosewater at the health store I was at when I bought the coconut oil, so I’m just using it plain on my face at night. It certainly is rich! It’s really cool how it’s a solid, but melts into a liquid with the warmth of your skin almost instantly. I can’t decide if it’s almost too rich. We’ll see how it goes. As soon as I finish up the Dove moisturizer I have, I’ll be using the jojoba oil for the morning.
While I don’t expect to hand make everything I use. I am trying to lean to more natural and less chemical. Right now I make my own deodorant but am looking for a better recipe. I also make a defrizz spray for my hair, and I use plain jojoba oil to moisterize at night.
I just switched to a mineral makeup power which I really like. And I’m not likely to make my own shampoo or conditioner. However, would like to make my own lotion, facial scrub, and eventually soap.
The next thing I plan to try is virgin coconut oil with a few drops of rosewater as a facial moisturizer. I’m curious as to how that compares to the jojoba oil.
