create an altered book

My last entry regarding this was on Dec. 29th. I had my materials together and was preparing to work on my first altered book. Just as I was getting excited about creating the book, my father-in-law became ill and died a week later. Two weeks after that my best friend called to tell me she has cancer. A week after that my son was robbed and shot.

Needless to say, the book project has been on hold, and it’s still laying on my craft table, begging to be created. I won’t get to it any time soon since my husband and I are doing some major rennovations to his father’s house, but it will be my first project once the dust has settled.

I’ve created many kinds of altered art but haven’t done an altered book yet. I did buy an old book from the library this week and am anxious to get started. As with anything I’ve created, I’m always a little apprehensive at first, thinking I’ll not do it “right”. Getting started, for me, is 75% of the battle.
