My original intention with this goal was from this book I think I own it, but I need to find it.
They define the superfoods as:
Beans • Blueberries • Broccoli • Oats •
Oranges • Pumpkin • Salmon • Soy • Spinach •
Tea—green or black • Tomatoes • Turkey • Walnuts • Yogurt
But, as I surf around and try to find more info, it looks like the term Superfood has a lot of controversy. Wikipedia defines it as “Superfood is a term sometimes used to describe food with high phytonutrient content that may confer health benefits as a result.” It also says that the EU has made it illegal to market foods with this catch phrase, unless it can be scientifically proven. Apparently, advertising has made the term pretty unreliable. So, I’ll just go with the list above from the book Superfoods to start. And maybe I’ll expand to other people’s “superfood” lists, if they are a credible source.
I’ve already had spinach today in my green smoothie, and it’s not even 10am!
