Is this a habit? 3 weeks ago

I have been getting up earlier for over six weeks now. So I am moving this to the accomplished category. It was easier this week because (thanks to the time change) it is sunny when I get up in the morning. The combination of having a warm house, sun shining on me and warm coffee waiting for me has really helped. I used to get up around 8:25 and now I have moved it back to 8:10. I would love to see that pushed back to 8:00 some time. But I would need to find a way to fill that free time with something more motivating than sleep. For now though, this goal is accomplished!



Four Weeks 1 month ago

I’ve made it to the four week mark. This week was a little more difficult and I found myself pushing back the time I get up by five minutes. But next week I will remain firm. I’ve got the heat to go on earlier, so it’s nice and warm when I get up. And I have figured out how to set my automatic coffee pot, so something warm is waiting for me!



Three Weeks 1 month ago

For three weeks now I have gotten up 20-30 minutes earlier. I am pretty excited. I still have to MAKE myself get out of bed. If I had my way I would stay in the warmth forever. I need to get my programable thermostat set so it’s warmer when I actually have to get out of bed. But so far, so good. If I can continue this for three more weeks I will consider a habit developed. It’s nice to be able to make coffee in the morning, actually pick out a nice outfit and put my makeup on before I get in the car!



Do-Over 5 months ago

I started this goal at the begining of the year. I was able to get up earlier for about two weeks. Then I reverted back to my old ways. I had a hard time filling all the free time I had in the morning. But just an extra 20 minutes would let me do more with my hair, pack a better lunch, eat a better breakfast, and make sure my clothes and dishes are all put away. So I started again today. I need to keep this goal up for at least six weeks before I can cross it off my list. Then hopdfully it will be a habit. So from this day forward I want to get up by 8:10 each day.



Why... 10 months ago

Because real people don’t get ready in 25 minutes. And maybe I’d enjoy the day more if it didn’t start in a mad-dash out the door.
