I’ve noticed a few things:
sugar free hershey’s tastes better than regular hershey’s.
sugar free jelly beans are icky.
I still eat sugar, but it’s not a large part of my regular diet. If I’m having something sweet, like chocolate or sweet tea, it’s a separate treat. I sit down and enjoy it. When it’s “part of” the meal (pancakes the other morning, syrup has between 12-32 grams of sugar per serving depending on brand), I take in it into account of my overall sugar intake for the day. I also just use a lot less than I used to. You really don’t have to soak pancakes for them to taste good. :)

Wow! This sugar free candy is great! When I have a craving for “sweet,” I stop and think and DECIDE to have a single piece of chocolate or lifesaver instead of a brownie, ice cream, whatever. It seems so little, but with all the sugar that’s in “normal” foods (milk, juice, etc) it can’t hurt to switch to the fake stuff as much as possible!

Today I found sugar free candy at Walmart. I got a little pack of chocolate, and a little pack of lifesavers. I know I’m not good at cold-turkeying when it comes to food, so I’m going to try weaning. I tried a piece of the chocolate just now. Not bad, slightly different, but I think keeping these around will help when the cravings hit.
