I tracked down two of the three people I want to ask to write letters of rec and have sent emails to them. The third, I can’t find, so I sent an email to the school’s graduate student coordinator to see if they have his new (not-at-the-school) contact info.

I wrote the personal essay, but now I’m working on/worried about the letters of rec. I have no idea who to ask, as my “professors” in undergrad were grad students, who aren’t there anymore! Yikes! Suggestions?

All Done! 13 months ago

I took the GRE today!
When I took my first practice, I scored around a 770.
Two weeks later, my practice score was a 930.
Today, for the real deal, I made a 1030.

..it could be better, it could’ve been worse, but for now I’m going to focus on writing a kick-ass personal essay and going from there. =)

GRE Part 2 13 months ago

My practice score was bad, but it’s going to have to improve.

I test on the 24th of November. 2 weeks!

So I just took a GRE practice test.
Ew! Yuck! Wow! I think there should be an award for “Impressively Bad Score!” ...that’s okay. I can do this. ...I need a 1350 (out of 1600) for the school I want to go to. Granted, I don’t know exactly how to calculate the number of right answers to work with the 200-800 scale, but I think I need to oh, double my first score. Not quite.. but if I did the math correctly, I need about 600 more points.

Step One 13 months ago

Picked the school
Filled out the application

Need to:
1 have transcripts sent
2 write the essay
3 get letters of rec
4 set up the interview
5 schedule the GRE

Ugh. 15 months ago

The program I want to study (Business Communication- communication between businesses, NOT media stuff) is not accredited. I love the classes and overall program, but I certainly want to earn my Masters’ Degree in an accredited program. :(

the perfect program at a school I never would have considered. And it’s reasonably priced, as well. I’ll need to take the GRE and get a bunch of letters of rec, but the most difficult thing seems to be apt shopping from so far away. (I’m in Georgia, school is in Kentucky.) Short of a trip up there, has any one had success long distance apt shopping?
