I read Invisible Man by Ellison. Now, I am over half way through Maugham’s Of Human Bondage, which I realized five seconds ago is NOT on the list! Agggh! I was at Barnes and Noble and they were sold out of 100 Years of Solitude, so I bought Maugham’s Of Human Bondage. I might as well finish it and then I resume reading one of the 101 Books.

I read Vanity Fair and An American Tragedy in September. Both books are very, very long. I loved Vanity Fair! An American Tragedy was full of suspense, and I was dying to know what would happen the entire book. The part about the trial seemed to drag on at times, but I enjoyed it much more than I thought I would when I first started reading it. I am half-way through Invisible Man right now.
I’ve read 53 out of the 101 books on the list. I just finished “Death Comes for the Archbishop.” Excellent book and really easy to read, I read it in two days. I’m taking a break from the list to read, “If I die in a Combat Zone” by Time O’Brien, but after that I’m diving into Vanity Fair, which seems really long. But hey, if it’s on the list, it’s got to be good.
