I wanted to just share the stories here, but I think what I would prefer to do is to write them down in a physical book. I’m getting frustrated that I didn’t start this earlier because I can remember snippets of stories, but not the rest. And I’d really like to record them verbatim.
When I went to school teachers weren’t as nice as they are nowadays. If you were naughty or got the answer wrong, they’d throw bits of chalk at you. Now when I was little I had trouble learning my ABC’s. I’d stand up and go A, B, C, D, E, F, G and get stuck at H. After days of this happening, the teacher said to the class
“Tomorrow morning, Miss Baitman will stand up and say all of her ABC’s. If she doesn’t, she’ll get the cane.”
I went home and told my dad what the teacher had said. He stayed up with me the whole night practicing. And in the morning, I stood in front of the class and said
“Z, Y, X, W, V, U, T, S, R, Q, P, O, M, N, L, K, J, H, I, G, F, E, D, C, B, A”
He was so surprised that all he said was
“Thank you, Miss Baitman, you can sit down.”
