Forgot my goal and ate taco bell. Didn’t even realize it til this very second. Guess that means it’s day 1 version 2. Sigh

I overslept slightly today and ended up being about 20 minutes late to work. I didn’t have time to make my Breakfast or lunch. It’s just as well I guess, I had a pretty goofy scheduale 5a-7a then 9:30-5:30pm. So I have a 2 1/2 hour gap which I’m now back home to take care of food. It’s probaly best that I don’t eat breakfast too early anyway.
Goals:
1. No unhealthy snacking
2. 2 1/2 bottles of water (700mL)
3. Walk for 30 mins
I’ve stopped using those little flavor packets in my water hoping I’ll notice a change in how i feel. I figure if I quit putting junk into my body, I should feel better. The flavor packets don’t seem to add any fat or calories, but I’m sure they are full of artificial colors, flavors, and sweeteners, and I know that can’t be good for me. I think I’m going to cut down on my smoking too, I currently smoke a pack a day so I’m going to try to keep it down to 15. Once I’m comfortable with that, I may try reducing it even more.
Well I didnt do as good today as I thought I would. Breakfast I was fine, Lunch came around and I ate my Peanut butter and banana sandwich, (i replaced the jelly with Banana cuz I thought it would be healthier), then I stupidly splurged on two slices of pizza. I picked off the pepperoni and most of the cheese and blotted off the grease, but still! How stupid right? So I get home from work and chow down on trail mix, totally fattening and full of chocolate. Then decide to eat my tomato-mini-bagel sandwich for dinner. I really screwed up today… I just wonder why I’m so hungry. I may have another mini bagel sandwich, who knows. I feel like a loser.
And I’ve reached my first roadblock. I’ve learned within the past two weeks that I’m lactose intoloerant, and so have cut milk out of my diet-not a big deal. The problem is that this is the first time I’ve had soymilk with my cereal… and I think it’s gross. I cut up a banana in it to try and help with the flavor, no dice. I think I may have to stick with instant oatmeal.
Tomorrow will be day one of my vegitarian eating crusade. I’ve heard that Breakfast is an important meal and I rarely ever eat breakfast, but I will try to be consistant. By planning ahead I’m hoping to change my life-style and become healthier and more energetic in the process. My meal plan is as follows…
Breakfast:
Cold cereal (1 serving)
Soymilk (1 serving)
Banana (1 serving)
Lunch:
Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich (1)
Dinner:
Spinich Salad (1 serving)
Mini Bagel and Tomato Sandwich (1)
Does anyone know if I should be taking vitamins? I hate pills, and I always forget to take them. Any suggestions?
Addendum: I’ve read the answers to the same question I had down below. Seems like alot of conflicting info. I’ve been interested in taking prenatal vitamins for the benefits of skin and nails, and everyone keeps arguing about Vitamin B-12… yeah I’ve heard of it, but I don’t know what it does or what health effects a lack of this vitamin may cause. I’m a simple eater who prefers easy foods like cereal and pop tarts. My husband is a carnivore and could eat steak for every meal, I dont keep “exotic” foods in the house like Kale and such. I’ve found that when I buy fruits or veggies, they tend to go bad. I’m on a super tight budget and am not big on tofu. Should someone like me be taking a supplement?
