The Evening Job and Cycle Continues... 2 years ago

Wow! Apparently I wrote “Why Wait for Wednesday” a year ago. Funny thing is, it’s still relevant for today. I got the evening job and decided to hell with having fun on the weekends, but now had to quit the other job because it was on commission and not making enough money. Furthermore, my creepy employer chose not to follow the law. Worse, because of my loyalty to a friend (let’s just call it stupidity…shall we), I decided to stay because things could get better (HA

Luckily, I saw that boat sinking… after it was full of water (not money) of course. So I quit the repressive job and now must follow my true calling. I’m too old to play around with my career, so now’s the time to get out there and find my passion and go for it whole-hearted. I suggest that everyone else do the same. Life is too short.

Oh…just so we’re clear…I kept the evening job. I’m no fool. I believe in following your passion, but you have to pay your bills, so first get that done while you’re in search of your passion. One could say that perhaps that’s why my cycle continues, but that would not be true. Afterall, I was not seeking my career passion in the beginning. I was just working hard at whatever I did. Sometimes, that’s good but not enough. If you don’t have passion at what you’re doing…you may be wasting time.

Why wait for Wednesday?! 4 years ago

I was going to wait until Wednesday to start on this goal, but decided that Monday was better, so I put in an application for an evening job (3 days/wk). If I get that position, my partying days are over for a long while, so I’ll save more, and make more. That should do it!

In the meantime, I’ll use Wednesday for doing more research on other positions, and applying for them! I think I’m on my way to making more money soon!

The Cycle must be broken! 4 years ago

First I make good money, but spend it like wildfire; Then, I’m not making good money, and scrimping like a monk. I need to make more money…lots more! Because now, I’m not making enough and feeling like a monk while my expenses are going up. The cycle must be broken, and the only way to do that is to make more money, and then save it!

So, my first plan of action is to get an additional job and save all of the money from that job. It’s kind of like losing weight. I mean, you know that you have to exercise more and eat less. The same applies for making more money, in most cases: earn more, and spend less! The cycle will be broken when I work more (or earn more) and spend less (or save more). I think I will begin to do it on Wednesday!
