The bathroom
Yes, I’m still working on the bathroom. I have gone off and put all items into their own little bins. I’m sure I need to add more bins and there is one that needs to be gone through. I did however clear out everything under the sink and in the counter drawers. I have to reach the very, very top closet shelf and clear that out but I’m so short that not even a step ladder will work for that.
I also attempted to clear out my linen closet. I actually got some of my comforters into those little plastic bags with the zippers. I thought I had three but it seems that one of them was packaged wrong and ended up being one of those hanging shoe deals. It worked out fine, I filled it with sheets and pillow cases. One thing we will have to work on is getting matching bed sets so that I can just put everything into the pillow case and call it a day. As for now, this works.

Okay so I’m still working on the bathroom I feel so cramped in the space! All the stuff is small or too big, I put it into an container and then realize that it won’t all fit and have to buy a different container and try again. Then it becomes too late and it all get’s left out and someone gets into it. I just never have enough time to do it all at once without the kids at home. Since it is the bathroom, everyone is coming in and there is no place else to do it.
I need a new plan….
1. Remove all big things out of the bathroom (bins, baby potty, baby tub, laundry basket, step stool) and give me some working space!
2. Keep, toss, give away and as I go through it all, put it where it belongs right then and there!
3. Fix the toilet, sink and tub.
4. Clean the damn bathroom and move on!
I’m just fed up with this project already.

Okay, I have tons of bathroom stuff. Why? Because I love to find stuff on sale. I can’t afford to go to the natural stores and buy tons of stuff. You know the organic and perfume free stuff they have. Kiss my Face and Dr. Bronner. But, I do go to the Grocery Outlet store and many times they will have the same products for up to 75% off. I won’t tell you how many I have.
Let’s just say that I have a closet in the bathroom filled with stuff and then 2 bins in the linen closet filled with stuff. I had almost all of it in the bins and the pressure caused some of the bottles to leak. So today I spent a good portion of my time going through the bins and wiping down the items.
I found out that the smaller bins with lids will not hold many of the items so I had to use the little crates (which I bought for the towels and such) to put them in, which means that I can’t stack the containers. So even though my goal was to clean and do one shelf, I still have tons of stuff all over the place because I couldn’t fit it on that one shelf. I will now have to go through and do the other shelves or will have to look for another container that is tall enough with a lid for stacking. I think if I can find them, this will work out far better.
I know the simple solution would be to get rid of it all but I just can’t seem to do it. We use it all and just can’t afford the reg. price of the product. In the long run it saves us money and I do have the space if I can just make good use of it (by stacking since the cabinets shelves are about 2 feet from each other.).

Organizing my home of course falls under “Simplifying my Life”. Life is a whole lot more simple when everything is in it’s place and there is a place for everything. It also falls under many of those “Clean…” things…I’m gonna take them all down. LOL.
Putting the kids into one room sure did organize things. Yes I have a bit of an issue. The main one being that they don’t have a place to put their toys or play so toys are finding their way into the sleep room. But for the most part, you can walk through the room and not trip! WOO HOO!
I don’t even have a before picture of that room. It was storage, about 4 shelves/cabinets, a bed, ottomen, bike, christmas items, about 5-6 boxes, a dresser.
Honest, I had start at the door and work my way back just to get in. I had packed that room so much that it wasn’t funny. I will be getting a picture done of it after everything is in it’s place! I am still looking for 2-3 tall chest like drawers. Wish me luck!
