I have been trying to go to the gym every day and I signed up for the Self Challenge to keep track of how many calories I’m burning. I feel like there is a slight difference already; I just need to stick with the gym and watch what I eat.

So far I’ve lost ten pounds on the South Beach Diet. I still want to lose another ten pounds, which I think will be enough that I’ll fit into a size 6. Also, I think my target weight should be somewhere around 145.
Okay, if I’m really going to do this, I need to start scheduling gym time into my very busy schedule. I prefer to work out in the morning, but with the weather being as bitingly cold as it is, it’s pretty hard to find the motivation to get out of bed. Realistically, though, the morning is the only time I have to work out, between committee meetings, volunteer work, my job, and social obligations. I need to make exercise a priority in my life. Besides, it is the perfect me time. I can bring my iPod and a magazine and watch the gym TVs on closed captioning.
I went to the gym last night for about half an hour of cardio after doing fifty crunches. I also walked a total of about 3/4 of a mile to and from the gym. And I’ve been sticking with the South Beach Diet, Phase 1.
