get a book published

I think it’s cheating to put it on this list but from the looks of things I may have a book I translated from French into English published soon. This is the most exciting thing that has happened to me in a while….:) A BOOK published with my name on it in some fashion, how weird, only other people publish books. Especially as this was a project I completed for a third year university translation course last year, and then let it fall off the radar. Then I get an email out of the blue last week from my professor at the time saying she’d spoken to the (francophone) author and that author’s previous publisher at a literary festival and that they both want to fix up my work and publish it! The french version of “my” book was shortlisted for the Governor-General’s Literary Award in the past few years, so could be it would go somewhere in English (?). Last thing I expected let me tell you, after a week from hell. I hope it works out. I guess some karma is racking up after all and I’m not just wasting my energy. If I get a book published before I graduate from undergrad I will probably pee my pants, at least once. Only thing is, I switched out of the French major and into law last year! Whoops… or as some would say, “DOH” !
