pay off my debt

I’ve gotten two cards paid off and cancelled! I have some money left over that I have ear-marked for debt repayment but I’m trying to decide exactly how to use it. It’s good to see my list of creditors getting smaller and smaller!

I paid one credit card off yesterday. Now I’m just waiting for the payment to post so I can call and cancel it. Woo hoo!! I can’t wait to get my tax return money because that’s going to cut my debt down by close to half! Maybe I actually can pay off all my debt this year!

I looked into a home equity loan in the hopes that I could consolidate my debt and have tax deductible interest but it turns out I haven’t built enough equity yet to borrow against. Now I guess I will shop around for an unsecured personal loan and hope against hope that I will be able to borrow enough since my credit is not exactly stellar. At least no one will steal my identity!

My debt is starting to get a little out of control. Not because I keep spending or charging but because, right now, I don’t make enough to pay over the minimun balance and my interest rates are so bad I don’t know how they are legal! I asked for money in lieu of Christmas presents this year from my parents and told them to tell the same to any other family members who asked what I wanted for Christmas. Hopefully between Christmas and my upcoming tax returns I will be able to make a huge dent in my debt! It’s not a very good feeling owing money and I will NEVER charge again once everything is paid off!
