This goal has been on my list since I started at 43 Things a couple months ago and I am finally getting around to making meditation a daily priority. I used to practice mindfulness meditation, noting my breath, so that is what I went back to. I’ve sat for 10 minutes each day since Sunday – 3 days in a row. I’m slowly getting there.
Following my breath is something that is a little difficult for me since I have asthma. Even though I’m in good health at the moment, paying attention to my breath isn’t really relaxing for me and causes a little bit of stress. I think it’s because normally when I pay attention to my breathing it’s because I can’t breathe. So, it’s kind of different to pay attention to normal breathing. I’ll get there, slowly but surely.
