stop drinking bottled water

My awesome stainless steel bottle had an accident and the plastic top broke. Luckily my friend Meghan bought me a new fully plastic, BPA free reusable water bottle. I’m still going strong!

It’s been over a month (not sure of exact date) and I haven’t drank single serve bottled water. I do drink from the communal water cooler at the curling rink, filling up my stainless steel bottle, once/twice a week, but that’s it! The rest is straight from the tap/brita! Wow!!

After watching the documentary “Tapped”, it opened my eyes to how bad it is for people and the planet to drink bottled water. From the refineries that created the plastic bottles that make people sick, to the groundwater that is being pumped out of communities and causing droughts, to the fact that there are no regulations or testing on the water in the bottles (compared to municipal tap water), and then the recycling / landfilling the plastic bottles.

Ever since watching that documentary, I’ve been using my thermos brand reusable stainless steel bottle. Now I just need to get my husband off of drinking bottled water.

Just as a note, I loved loved loved bottled water. The clean ness, the flavour, the plastic on my mouth. I never wanted to drink water from a glass, a mug, a too-wide mouth container, or metal on my mouth. So having this plastic top, one-hand opening, stainless steel bottle is PERFECT for me :-)
