..are now underway. Once a week I go to a community college class and learn to play!
I can play, sort of, “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star Now”. As well as “Ode to Joy” ‘cause that’s easy and the same key.
Yes, it STILL sounds like I’m torturing my cat (which I don’t have) but at least the bridge mute works!
I LOVE my violin.

...with a bridge mute so I can play in my apartment. It’s a Glima Gama II. And yes, I’ve already tinkered with it. It’s quite satisfying as, for some reason, I get instant gratification with it. A little wrist control and I don’t get that scratchy noise along the strings. Now to get a handle on various note patterns on the strings. They seem different from a guitar for some reason. And I have to find the music to “twinkle twinkle little star” to start. Or I could always start with “ode to joy” since I know that one like the back of my hand. I’ve played that on EVERY instrument I’ve attempted.

yesterday, and had the sales clerk show me the violin. He gave it to me, helped me position it correctly, showed me how to hold the bow, and I ran it across the strings. It was WONDERFUL. I have always secretly wanted to play but was intimidated, that’s why I thought I’d try ‘simpler’ instruments.. uh uh.. they just weren’t right!! Be it flute, harp, guitar, bass, drums.. nope.. it HAS to be the VIOLIN!!
I pick it up on Friday!! My poor neighbours… bwahahahahahahahaahahha….
