This woman has become my idol in a lot of ways. First, she was clearly a talented singer and dancer and performer – her whole body never stops moving, and her face is as mobile as Lucille Ball’s with I would argue a greater range of expression. Second, she was incredibly hilarious, the kind of hilarity that you can just tell isn’t an act – she must have been a card off-stage as well. Third, she had plenty of struggles in her life and was a HS drop-out, but eventually beat alcoholism and substance abuse AND went back to school to get a Master’s degree later, wow. Fourth…on stage, she managed to be brassy and bold and un-ladylike and yet totally feminine and sexy all at once.
I mean…damn. Just watch some of the videos here. You can tell by looking at her that she was quite strong, physically (next to skinny Fred Astaire, she looks like an Amazon!). And yet she still managed to look like a girl. A really fun girl who would be a barrel of laughs in bed or just to hang out with for an evening.

I just love her. I’ve loved her in pretty much everything I’ve seen from her. She’s one of those actresses that seems really real (very talented, obvs), and also she does pathos and humor equally well.
Plus, she looks real. Attractive as hell, but her face is clearly her own. I even found her attractive as Carmela Soprano (so not my type). With her new butch-y ‘do…yum!

I’m a rabid Coen Bros. fan, and as such I’ve developed a burning passion for this woman. I love how real she looks and seems in every film she’s been in. Not just due to her acting talent, but how she puts herself OUT THERE, without airbrushing or gloss. She’s done so much freaking fantastic work over the years, and I hope she does tons more.

I’ve really been neglecting this goal.
Dude – how can you not love her? She is smart, erudite, and overall kickass. First openly gay TV anchor, woot! And so cute to boot! I swooned like a fangirl over her recent visit Daily Show appearance, and it wasn’t even that good of an interview.
So motherflippin’ hot.

Look. If you don’t get this one, go watch some footage of her live performances on YouTube.
If you don’t understand it then, well…what’s wrong with you?!!!

I’ve been peripherally aware of her for quite awhile, but have only started getting into her stuff recently. Sure, some of it is pretentious and un-listenable, but a lot of it is smart and haunting and funny and brilliant. I love the fact that she’s a broad artist who hasn’t limited herself to any one instrument or style. Plus she’s a violinist and keyboard player like me. Oh, and she’s married to Lou Reed…not that she needs him to make her cooler by association.
These days she is still busy. She looks damn good for 60. However, I have more of a crush on early 80’s Anderson, as she is pictured here in this photo. I freakin’ love the androgyny and the crazy hair.

You know, there are not many women that I’m attracted to for their physical qualities, but Christina Hendricks is one. First I came to drool over her as Joan, the bitchy yet voluptuous office manager on AMC’s Mad Men. My tastes in women have always strayed a bit more to the butch/androgynous side, but MAN she is bewitching as the office hottie.
Then I started seeing her everywhere – realized that she was a guest star on two other great shows: Firefly and Life. Yup, hot there too – it’s not just the wiggle dresses and the clip on earrings. Christina Hendricks is a total babe.

Goodness gracious me, how I love this woman. Singing, acting, comedy (it’s the comedy that really gets me – the woman is FUNNY). I’ve had a thing for her ever since seeing a showing of Mary Poppins on the big screen as a child, and on up through Victor/Victoria. Just so very adorable and talented. Also, she still looks great.

Holy cow, this woman is brilliantly funny. And cute. If you don’t believe me, check out her one-woman comedy show on SuperDeluxe.com.
Her impressions of her parents are quite wonderful.
